PETE’S PLUMBING INC. OFFERS HELPFUL WINTER PLUMBING ADVICE FOR EASIER MAINTENANCE AND GREATER ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Friendly Professionals On-Call to Tackle Plumbing Emergencies

Pete’s Plumbing Inc., a family-owned and operated full-service residential and commercial plumbing company that serves Alpharetta, Georgia and nearby areas, offers a wide range of helpful winter plumbing advice on its social networking page on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Petes-Plumbing/155158074498798).

These winter plumbing tips include a number of small fixes that can save on large surprises later on:

  • Insulating pipes in crawl spaces and attic minimizes frozen pipes that often burst. Pipes can be wrapped with heat tape or thermostatically-controlled heat cables.
  • Seal all noticeable leaks that can allow cold air to reach pipes inside. Caulk and insulation can keep this cold hair out from around pipes and dryer vents.
  • Disconnect all garden hoses and make sure all water is drained from outside faucets.
  • Allow a small drip from taps overnight as this movement of water can help stop water from freezing in pipes.
  • Open cabinet doors to allow heat to reach uninsulated pipes located under sinks and appliances that are found near an outside wall.
  • Set the thermostat at 55 degrees or higher if going away for a few days.

Julie Lippitt, President of Pete’s Plumbing, said, “Nobody plans for plumbing problems, especially during the holiday season, but this is the time of year where unexpected plumbing issues surprise all of us. Putting any of these maintenance tips to good use or calling in our team will help minimize the effects that this cold time of year brings. Our team is here to help get your plumbing back on track and give you peace of mind throughout the winter season.”

There are certain times where it is important to call Pete’s Plumbing immediately rather than tackling the problem:

  • If no water comes out of the faucets after turning them on.
  • If pipes have burst.
  • If the septic tank backs up.
  • If there is a great need for plumbing skills even for maintenance jobs.

The friendly professionals at Pete’s Plumbing are available 24/7 and 365 days per year to help with winter plumbing emergencies or diagnose any plumbing problem that comes with the season.
