Brian Newmark, an amateur golfer from Alameda in Northern California, won the USPT National Championship official qualifying event held at Encinitas Ranch in north San Diego County on December 26.
Brian's victory qualifies him for the putting tour's 2011 championship that takes place in September at The Crossings in Carlsbad, California. As an official qualifier, Newmark is exempt from competing in Round 1 of the national
putting championship, as he advances directly into Round 2 of the three round tournament.
"It was an exciting day at Encinitas Ranch," said putting tour founder, Jim Hartley. "Brian showed his mettle by making key putts down the stretch to win by two strokes."
