Authorities found a woman’s body Wednesday as they were searching for missing New York teacher Leah Walsh. Police have not confirmed if the body is that of Walsh, who was reported missing Monday when she didn’t show up for work. No other details about the unidentified woman were avaliable.
The body was discovered in a wooded area about 13 miles from where Walsh’s abandoned car was found on a Long Island highway. Walsh’s purse was discovered in a ditch near the vehicle.
Walsh’s husband, William Walsh, was questioned Tuesday, but police say it was a routine part of the investigation. There are no suspects in the 29-year-old’s disappearance.
William and Leah have been married for 3 years and do not have any children.
