First Class Foods has issued a recall for over 30,000 pounds of organic ground beef. The California company says a ground beef sample tested positive for E coli. The recall includes 34,373 pounds of beef produced on December 7 and December 16.
The affected products are: 16-oz packages of Nature’s Harvest Organic Ground Beef Bricks and 16-oz packages of Nature’s Harvest Ground Patty with four 4-oz patties.
The beef, which was distributed to California, New Jersey, North California, New York, Wisconsin and Washington, have “EST. 18895” printed on the packaging and a Pack Date of “10341” and “10350.”
Symptoms of E. coli include bloody diarrhea and dehydration.
The ground beef recall comes after Texas-based J and D Produce issued a recall for nearly 7,000 cases of cilantro and parsley for Salmonella contamination. On December 30, the company added 18 other vegetables to the recall list. All of the produce was sold under the name Little Bear.
