Bomb Explodes in Parking Lot at University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain

A car bomb detonated in a parking lot at Spain’s University of Navarra in Pamplona, igniting nearby cars and leaving at least 15 injured.

The school, located near the Basque Country, was believed to be targeted by ETA separatists who continue their campaign for Basque independence from pain. While the Navarra region is separate from the Basque Country many nationalists believe it should be part of an independent Basque homeland.

Officials evacuated the Roman Catholic school after the blast. The University of Navarra is no stranger to the ETA as the group has targeted the school on more than a handful of occasions.
