Al Gore Set to Campaign for Barack Obama in Florida

Al Gore will be returning to the state that was at the center of his controversial 2000 presidential election loss as the former VP is set to hit the campaign trail in Florida in support of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Gore will be in Fort Lauderdale in effort to capture enough votes in the key swing state to give Obama a victory. Florida is considered a must-win for Republican nominee John McCain and if Obama were to terk the Sunshine State it would virtually catapult him to the White House.

For Gore, he knows how important just a few votes can be. In 2000 he lost Florida by less than 600 votes and as a result lost the presidential election to George W. Bush.

Obama has been spending plenty of time in Florida in an effort to secure the state and appeared on stage with Bill Clinton. Obama spent the early morning on Thursday in Sarasota where he urged supporters to ensure they cast their ballot on Tuesday.
