AP Top 25 College Football Schedule: #5 Florida Gators Battle #8 Georgia Bulldogs in Jacksonville
#5 Florida Gators will take on #8 Georgia Bulldogs in their annual SEC rivalry on Saturday at 3:30pm ET on ABC.
The Georgia-Florida rivalry, also known as "The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party", will take place yet again at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, FL.
Last year, the rivalry added a historic event which heightened the animosity between the border state schools. When UGA scored their first touchdown, the entire team celebrated in the end zone, a move that was uncharacteristically orchestrated by coach Mark Richt.
The outlandish play sparked an excessive celebration penalty, but set the tone for the game. Georgia (7-1, 4-1 SEC) won the game 42-30 last season, upsetting the Gators (6-1, 4-1).
UF is led by last year's Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow and wide receiver/running back Percy Harvin, who's averaging 106.8 yards from scrimmage. Last week, the Gators dismantled Kentucky, 63-5.
On defense, Florida has the SEC's top-ranked scoring defense at 11.9 points per game. They also have the conference's second-best rushing defense, which will be key against UGA's Knowshon Moreno, who is second in the SEC with 115.6 rushing yards per game.
Along with Moreno, the Georgia offense is led by quarterback Matt Stafford and receiver A.J. Green. Stafford, who leads the SEC in total offense, takes the helm for the conference's top passing offense. Green, the freshman phenom, is his top target with 39 catches for an SEC-leading 662 yards and five TDs.
Despite their rankings in the AP Top 25, Georgia is actually ranked higher in the BCS rankings as UGA and Florida are ranked #6 and #8, respectively.
