With the launch of the inaugural 2011 U.S. Putting Tour season, the new American putting tour for men and women golfers is seeking a golf equipment manufacturer as its primary sponsor for 2011 and beyond.
Tour founder and president, Jim Hartley, says that sponsoring the USPT is both a great value and a great marketing opportunity. "The USPT is looking to form a long-term relationship with a putter maker that may or may not make a full line of golf equipment," explained Hartley. "For 2011, the sponsorship fee is small compared to the exposure and marketing leverage that will be generated for the putter company."
Hartley indicated that the tour's primary sponsor benefits will include title sponsorship of the
putting championship in September, presenting sponsorship of the yearlong
putting tour, and grassroots exposure at the tours many
putting tournaments around the country where golfers qualify for the championship.
He went on to say that the primary sponsor also gets title sponsorship of two celebrity putting events that will take place in spring and summer in San Diego and Los Angeles and which are expected to include over 100 current and former athletes and personalities from the entertainment world.
In addition, the primary sponsor will be able to use the U.S. Putting Tour as a marketing tool throughout 2011 for consumer promotions, cause-related tie-ins, customer hospitality with entries into the celebrity golf events and the championship, advertising campaigns, and product demos at putting tour events.
