Man Lives With Lions to Raise Money For Wildlife

A US man is spending a month living with two lions in their enclosure.

The wildlife enthusiast, James Jablon, is presently locked in the cage with African lions Lea and Ed - who he has raised since they were clubs – whom he plans to sleep next to on a bed of hay.

The lions devour around 14lbs of raw meat a day in one sitting, but while James will also eat only one meal himself, he will stick to regular food. He will also find himself a spot high in the trees, which he will retreat to if the lions fight each other.

James also has a small fenced off cage in the pen in case he ever feels he is really in danger, though he says his main problem will be filling time, as lions sleep for around 18 to 20 hours a day.

The stunt will raise money for the Wildlife Rehabilitation of Hernando center where James works, and the whole adventure is being streamed live until its conclusion on January 31 from the center website.
