Despite an economic downturn, the small wind turbine market grew 15% in 2009, equating to nearly 10 000 new units and pushing installed total capacity to 100 MW in the U.S. Former President George W Bush opened WINDPOWER 2010 in Texas with a strong message of perseverance and determination for the industry. The conference is the largest energy show in the country and brought together industry leaders for a ‘think-tank’. Texas is currently the leading state in the U.S for wind energy production.
It is here in Texas that growing wind energy producer, Here Enterprises Inc (HRTE),is developing its first wind farm. The company is looking to co-locate its development with an existing off road motor track that draws substantial crowds every week. The company is hoping that its initiative will lower entry costs and provide a steady stream of income.
