The Barack Obama campaign has booted journalists from three major newspapers from the Democratic presidential nominee’s plane for the final leg of the campaign.
Journalists from the Washington Times, New York Post and Dallas Morning News were told there was no more room for them on Obama’s campaign plane and they would not be accompanying the nominee over the last few days leading up to the election.
The Washington Times had been covering the Obama campaign since its inception and have expressed outrage at the decision.
All three papers had earlier endorsed Republican presidential candidate John McCain.
The Obama campaign notified the papers on Thursday evening and in an article published on Friday in the Washington Times the paper’s Executive Editor John Solomon noted, “I hope the candidate that promises to unite America isn't using a litmus test to determine who gets to cover his campaign.”
