Zhongpin Inc (NASDAQ:HOGS) to Hold Q3 2008 Earnings November 10

Zhongpin Inc. is principally engaged in the meat and food processing business in the People’s Republic of China. Its product line includes over 270 meat products, including chilled pork, frozen pork, pig by-products and prepared meats that are sold on a wholesale basis and on a retail basis through a network of showcase stores, network stores and supermarket counters under its Zhongpin brand.

Zhongpin has nine processing plants, which are located in Henan, Heilongjiang and Sichuan Provinces and in the Economic Development Zone in Tianjin City in the People’s Republic of China (PRC). It has a total of 15 production lines with an aggregate processing capacity of approximately 963 metric tons per day, based on an eight-hour working day, or approximately 346,680 metric tons on an annual basis. It also produces and sells vegetables and fruits, and has contracts with more than 100 farms in Henan Province and nearby areas to produce vegetable varieties and fruits suitable for export purposes.
