According to ESPN.com, Dan Uggla and
the Atlanta Braves reached an agreement.
Upon a completion of a physical exam Uggla will receive a five year, $62
million contract.
Uggla was acquired from the Florida
Marlins in November. Dan Uggla is known
for making two All-Star teams with Florida and has 154 home runs since his
first major league season in 2006.
Uggla, who made $7.8 million last
season, was eligible for salary arbitration this spring and could have been a
free agent after the 2011 season. The Marlins traded him to Atlanta in November
after failing to reach agreement on a long-term contract that would have kept
him in Florida beyond 2011.
