Kevin Webster won't turn his back on baby Jack

Coronation Street's Kevin Webster won't be turning his back on baby Jack.

The adulterous mechanic - who fathered a child with Molly Dobbs (Vicky Binns) while the pair were involved in a steamy affair - has become a single father in the wake of the devastating tram crash and is desperate for his scorned wife Sally (Sally Dynevor) to welcome baby Jack into the family.

Michael Le Vell - who plays Kevin in the ITV1 soap - explained: "His marriage is non-existent. Sally won't forgive Kevin and that pains him. He wants them to be a family with Jack. It's not a choice between Sally and the baby. Kevin's not going to turn his back on his son. He's all Jack's got.

"I think it's possible he can win Sally back. But he's going to bring Jack up with or without her. It's her choice as to whether she comes on his journey or not."

However, when Sally - who shared a saucy kiss with Molly's ex Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) on New Year's Eve (31.12.10) - refuses to play ball, Kevin resorts to blackmail and threatens to sell the family home from underneath her.

Michael added to Soaplife magazine: "It's a way of blackmailing her. He's saying, 'If you don't want me back then I'll have you out of the house'.

"He doesn't really want to throw his family out. He's being pig-headed."
