Matt Forte rushed for 126 yards on 22 carries, Rashied Davis had 64 yards receiving and Rex Grossman filled in for an injured Kyle Orton to lead a second half comeback with a passing TD and a rushing score as well as the Chicago Bears (5-3) beat the Detroit Lions (0-8) 27-23 on Sunday to grab the lead in the NFC North.
The Bears carried a 10-0 lead into the second quarter but the Lions rattled off three straight touchdowns to put Chicago in a 20-10 hole. Kevin Smith scored on a one-yard run but the PAT was blocked, Calvin Johnson hauled in a 17-yard touchdown pass from Dan Orlovsky and Orlovsky followed with a 14-yard TD toss to Shaun Mcdonald.
Both teams then traded field goals and went into the half with the Lions holding a 23-13 lead.
Grossman took over for an injured Orton and got the Bears on the board in the third quarter with a 6-yard touchdown pass to Davis and then with 5:36 remaining in the game the QB scored on a one-yard keeper to give Chicago the lead.
