NFL Scores Week 9: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Overcome 21-Point Deficit to Beat Kansas City Chiefs in OT

Jeff Garcia was 31/43 passing for 339 yards and a touchdown, Antonio Bryant had 115 yards receiving and a TD and Matt Bryant booted three field goals including the game-winner in overtime as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-3) overcame a 21-point deficit to beat the Kansas City Chiefs (1-7) 30-27 on Sunday.

The Chiefs were all over the Bucs midway through the second quarter as Tyler Thigpen tossed a 7-yard TD to Dwayne Bowe, Kolby Smith scored on a one-yard run, Mark Bradley hit Thigpen on a 37-yard touchdown pass and Connor Barth kicked a 39-yard field goal to offset an Bryant field goal and the Chiefs led 24-3.

It all started going south for Kansas City following Barth’s field goal as Clifton Smith took the ensuing kickoff 97-yards for a TD and then Bryant tacked on a 43-yardfiled goal as time expires in the half and the Bucs trailed 24-13 at the break.

Tampa climbed closer early in the third as running back Earnest Graham hit Alex Smith on a 3-yard toss but the two-point attempt failed to leave the score at 24-19. Barth stopped the bleeding for the Chiefs with a 28-yard field goal but with 19 seconds left in the fourth Garcia found Antonio Bryant on a 24-yard TD and they punched in their two-point attempt to force overtime.

Bryant then connected from 34-yards out in OT to give the Bucs the road win.
