NFL Scores Week 9: Minnesota Vikings Back to .500 with Win Over Houston Texans

Adrian Peterson rushed for 139 yards and a touchdown, Gus Frerotte was 11/18 passing for 182 yards and three TDs and Bernard Berrian had 104 yards receiving and a touchdown on two catches as the Minnesota Vikings (4-4) pulled even in the season with a 28-21 victory over the Houston Texans (3-5) on Sunday.

Peterson put the Vikings on the board in the first quarter with a one-yard run but Frerotte erased the Minnesota lead when he was picked off by Jacques Reeves who returned it 44-yards for a touchdown to tie the score at 7-7.

Frerotte made up for the miscue with a  pair of TDs in the second quarter, hitting Sidney Rice on an 8-yard toss and then connecting with Berrian on a 49-yard pass for a 21-7 halftime lead.

Sage Rosenfels cut the Texans deficit to seven after hitting David Anderson on a 3-yard toss in the third quarter but gave the Vikings some breathing room midway through the fourth when he found Visanthe Shiancoe on a 25-yard touchdown and Minnesota was up 28-14. Rosenfels got the Texans to within seven on a 14-yard touchdown pass to Andre Johnson with just under three minutes left but the Vikings managed to preserve the win.
