Just three weeks after the death of his estranged wife, John Edwards reportedly proposed to Rielle Hunter – the videographer with whom he had an affair and father a child.
The National Enquirer reports the former North Carolina senator proposed to Hunter in late December just three weeks after his wife Elizabeth Edwards died of breast cancer. The publication also claims Edwards introduced Hunter and their 2-year-old daughter Quinn to his three children with Elizabeth. He allegedly hopes they can "become one big, happy family."
"The callous ex-senator introduced his children to Rielle Hunter -- who had destroyed his 33-year marriage and gave birth to his love child," the National Enquirer report reads.
The news comes days after it was revealed that Elizabeth left John completely out of her will. In documents dated December 1, the lawyer and author stated all her belongings are to be given to her children – Cate, 28, Emma Claire, 12, and Jack, 10. She appointed Cate executor of the will.
John began his affair with Hunter in 2006. He admitted to the affair in 2008, but denied reports he fathered Hunter’s daughter. In January 2010, John finally admitted to being Quinn’s father.
