NFL Scores Week 9: Indianapolis Colts Keep Season Alive with Win Over New England Patriots

Peyton Manning was 21/29 passing for 254 yards and two touchdowns, Anthony Gonzalez had a pair of TD receptions and the Indianapolis Colts (4-4) forced a pair of turnovers as they knocked off the New England Patriots (5-3) 18-15 on Sunday night to keep their season alive.

Manning and Gonzalez hooked up for the only score in the first quarter on a 12-yard touchdown toss but The Patriots defense shut down the Colts the rest of the half and managed to get a pair of field goals from Stephen Gostkowski in the second quarter to trail 7-6 at halftime.

New England then grabbed the lead in the third quarter when Benjarvus Green-Ellis scored from 6-yards out but their two-point attempt failed to leave the score at 12-7. Manning then brought the Colts down the field and he found Gonzalez once again on a 9-yard TD pass and after a successful two-point conversion they were up 15-12.

Gostkowski then evened the score at 15-15 early in the fourth quarter with a 25-yard field goal but Adam Vinatieri connected from 51-yards out for the 18-15 advantage. Indy’s defense then came up big and never allowed the Patriots a shot at a tie.
