Pamela Stephenson's weight-gain fear

Pamela Stephenson "cannot bear" the idea of putting on weight.

The 61-year-old 'Strictly Come Dancing' star - who came in third place and lost over 40lbs during her stint on the show - admits she is "almost embarrassed" about how much weight she lost, which saw her body change from a size 16 to a size 12.

She said: "I can't bear the thought of putting on weight or getting unfit again. I thought I'd lost 28lb, but after the finals I realised it was nearer 40, which I think is almost embarrassing."

However the psychologist - who is married to Scottish comedian Billy Connolly - is concerned she may gain weight because she has purchased a whole new wardrobe of clothes that would not fit her.

She added: "The day after the finals I marched to my closet and threw out everything that didn't fit, which was pretty much all of it.

"I only kept a few things I'd bought optimistically that were too small for me - and it felt fantastic to finally get them out of the wardrobe. So now I better not put on any weight because replacing everything would be so expensive."
