"Arguably the iPhone's first serious recipe app, and by far its best. First and foremost, Epicurious is a front-end for a bogglingly huge library of recipes lifted from the pages of Bon Appetit, Gourmet, and other generally reputable sources, most of which are accompanied by delicious photos. Recipe choice is effectively endless, the iPhone interface is straightforward and functional, and the iPad interface is kind of gorgeous. The included shopping list tool is (baby raspberry) icing on the (flourless espresso) cake."

3 Reasons To Choose DROID 2 Global as your chef assistant

  1. The key difference between the two phones is the faster processor speed. The Global features a 1.2 GHz processor, compared to the Droid 2′s 1 GHz CPU.This means if you have a cooking app open at the same time, you can also email someone or send a photo to someone in facebook.
  2. The phone’s own dedicated GPU to handle certain games and apps even quicker, thus freeing up extra room for the regular CPU to do its job better, faster and more efficiently.
  3. Another interesting note in differences is that the battery is slightly larger to handle the increased processor (1420 mAh vs 1400)
  4. Lastly, the Global looks on paper as though it has the same specs, but we’ve been told that the Global is a hair thinner except for the camera (which is as thin as it can go), which is precisely why there appears to be a bulge at the camera.

This comment below is made by someone who recently purchased the Global 2 Android phone

"Pros: It does EVERYTHING I need plus more.

Cons: Battery life is less than to be desired for so make sure you have your USB cord or charger.

Summary: This is a really phenomenal phone. Let me just tell you what I have been doing since I got it. I previously had a Blackberry Bold which worked fine but my fiance has a discount on Verizon so I switched and got a free Droid 2 Global with the deals that they have been having.

This weekend I turned it on and it grabbed all of my information from my Google account so I didn't have to update my accounts. I no longer need my iPod because it stores music. I listen to music all day at work on it (Pandora). I was driving and using turn by turn vocal GPS navigation while driving. I can hook the phone up to my car using the input and actually play streaming music into my car. The programmed the alarm from the DROID 2 Global to wake me up. My fiance and I have been playing silly but fun games on it (we each got one with the two for one deal). We check our emails, update our Google Docs online and schedule things using Google Calendar using this beast of a machine. Did I mention it makes calls also?

As you can tell I am very pleased with it. I haven't even gotten to the tons of apps that are available. It also has a physical keyboard which is important to me. I don't like tapping glass. Its just not my thing. My fiance and I are very happy with our phones. A lot of thought was put into its design it seems. The negative things I have been reading about the phone don't really seem to be that big of a deal to me compared to everything else out there. Hope this info helps you make your decision"
