The Pittsburgh Steelers will travel to take on the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football at 8:30pm ET on ESPN.
The Steelers sit atop the AFC North division, while the Redskins are second in the loaded NFC East behind reigning Super Bowl champion New York Giants.
The Steelers enter the game with the NFL's No. 1 total defense, led by their great corps of linebackers. Their famed 3-4 defense features outside linebackers LaMarr Woodley and James Harrison and inside linebackers James Farrior and Larry Foote, who make up the foundation of their defense, which is only allowing an average of 236 yards per game.
The linebacking corps have combined for 19 of the Steelers' 25 sacks, which is No. 2 in the NFL. Harrison has 8.5 sacks, while Woodley has 7.5 sacks, carrying the bulk of the foursome's sack total.
On offense, the Steelers are struggling a bit with the NFL's 25th ranked total offense. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is having an subpar season, while their rushing game has been affected due to the injuries of All-Pro running back Willie Parker and rookie backup Rashard Mendenhall.
Wide receiver Hines Ward has been known more this season for his season-ending hit against Bengals linebacker Keith Rivers than his receiving play.
The Redskins have one of the league's most efficient offenses, led by running back Clinton Portis, quarterback Jason Campbell and wide receiver Santana Moss.
Portis leads the NFL with 944 rushing yards. Campbell, who has an 100.5 QB rating and passed for 1,754 yards, is the only quarterback in the NFL without an interception.
Moss, who is one of the NFL's best receivers with 35 catches for 678 yards and five TDs, is a game-time decision due to a hamstring injury.
On defense, the Redskins are fourth in the NFL in total defense, led by their linebacking corps of London Fletcher, Rocky McIntosh and Marcus Washington, who have combined for 145 total tackles.
They are missing two of their stars in defensive end Jason Taylor and cornerback Shawn Springs due to respective calf injuries. Taylor has missed several games due to his injury.
