Hanover College hybrid defensive specialist Cameron Rode has chosen Dynasty Sports Management to represent him as he pursues a career in professional football.
Rode, who played defensive lineman for Hanover College will more then likely make a switch to either strong safety or free safety due to his height and quickness.
The two sport senior also ran track on Hanover's track team. Cameron Rode had a solid senior year finishing eighth on the squad in tackles with 39 and 8 tackles for loss. He also recorded 2 sacks and 2 forced fumbles on the season.
Cameron, who is a Plantation, Florida native, earned the honors of Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week during a week five victory over Anderson College for his outstanding play and efforts.
Thus far Rode has had two tryouts with teams from the Arena Football League (AFL) which included the Cleveland Gladiators and the Iowa Barnstormers, but he is also hoping to break into the Canadian Football League (CFL) with either a tryout or an invitation to training camp in May.
Rode's agent Nate McCray's thoughts on the signing - "Cameron definitely has the skills to play at the next level. I'm thinking with his speed and tackling ability, he can be a good prospect for the safety position and that's where I'll start to market him at".
