Dancing On Ice judge slams Angela Rippon

Jason Gardiner is pleased Angela Rippon has left 'Dancing On Ice'.

The former newsreader was voted off the ITV1 skating show on Sunday night (09.01.11) after failing to impress viewers with her routine, and judge Jason thinks the 66-year-old star was too "prim and proper" to do well in the series.

He said: "It's good she's gone. She's so prim and proper and perfect in every way it leaves you cold and she won't listen to criticism. Angela only hears what she wants to hear. Good riddance to old rubbish."

On Sunday, Angela - who was furious when Jason dubbed her routine "dull and safe" - was in the bottom three alongside children's TV presenter Laura Hamilton and former 'EastEnders' star Nadia Sawalha, and although Laura only just survived, Jason believes she will be in the final.

He added to The Sun newspaper: I'm going out on a limb - she's potentially a finalist. She's like a goofy, bashful puppy who bumps into things because she's so excited. Once she settles down she could be really excellent."
