Tea towels to commemorate the royal wedding have been given the go-ahead.
In a turn-around by palace courtiers, the souvenir favourites will be available for fans to buy to mark Prince William's marriage to Kate Middleton on April 29.
The official towel by the Royal Collection will be a plain linen cloth bearing the initials of Catherine and William intertwined alongside the prince's coronet.
The decision came after a ruling last month which stated although mugs, plates, biscuit tins and pots were suitable - tea towels, aprons and T-shirts were deemed too "disposable".
However after Prince William joined a public backlash against the tea towel ban, Royal Household Chief, Lord Chamberlain Earl Peel, has now reversed his decision.
A royal aide said at the time: "William and Catherine would be more than content for their images to appear on tea towels celebrating the wedding.
"They see the memorabilia side of things, including tea towels, as very much a part of the whole event."
