Coronation Street's Eileen Grimshaw is to scam £10,000 from her boss.
The bolshie mum-of-two - played by actress Sue Cleaver - gets greedy while balancing builder Owen Armstrong's books and cashes a cheque for herself instead of paying it into his business account.
Sue told Inside Soap magazine: "When Carla (Alison King) comes over with a cheque for Owen and asks Eileen who to make it payable to, Eileen tells her she doesn't need to fill in the name as she has a stamp.
"It's such a huge amount and would solve all her problems - so Eileen makes it payable to herself!"
However, Eileen is left fearing for her life when burly bruiser Owen (Ian Puleston-Davies) realises £10,000 is missing when his credit card bounces and immediately bashes down his employee's front door while threatening her with violence.
Guilt-ridden Eileen repays the money straight away and manages to stop him from taking further action by threatening to expose his tax fiddles.
Owen tells her: "One day when you're least expecting it I'll make you pay. You'll be sorry."
Despite the builder's threatening behaviour, actor Ian Puleston-Davies recently claimed his 'Coronation Street' alter-ego isn't a bad guy.
He explained: "He's not an evil man with an axe, or a hammer. Everything he does has reasoning behind it. He's got morals - but they're his own morals. Don't write Owen off - he's not an out-and-out bad guy ... honest!"
