Lindsay Lohan was released from Palm Springs’ Betty Ford treatment center just a few days after the New Year began, but her legal issues aren’t completely resolved. The 24-year-old actress is still dealing with the aftermath of a 2007 drunk driving case that resulted in multiple stints in rehab and two trips to jail last year.

The incident occurred between Lohan and a Betty Ford worker who has since been fired, allegedly for leaking the story to the tabloids.
Recovery is an ongoing process and whether or not Lohan can stay sober for the long haul remains to be seen. Still, her attitude right before leaving rehab was upbeat.
"Today is the first day of the rest of my life," Lohan posted on Twitter on New Year’s Day, adding, '"The future depends on what we do in the present.' -Mahatma Gandhi... One step at a time ..."
