Lindsey Wixon's Alexander McQueen campaign

Lindsey Wixon is the new face of Alexander McQueen.

The 16-year-old model will star in the label's new spring/summer 2011 brand images, which will appear in stores, billboards and on the fashion house's website.

In the shots, Lindsey - who has appeared in campaigns for Versace - has her hair neatly woven into a lattice-like plait and wears a sleeveless printed dress with delicate scalloped edges, set against a backdrop of butterflies.

The campaign is the first one to have been directed by Sarah Burton, who took over as the label's creative director following the tragic suicide of Alexander McQueen last February.

After taking over the role of the fashion legend - real name Lee - Sarah vowed her collections will be true to herself but still pay tribute to him.

She said: "People ask: what's Sarah about? But I've worked here for so long, there's been a big part of me in those collections all along the way," she said. "I'm not going to wipe the slate clean. That would be wiping me away. There will always be those McQueen elements, but at the same time, you can never stay still and you have to stay true to yourself. That's what Lee drummed in to me: you have to be able to stand behind your work."
