Nearly a dozen inmates at a prison in Mexico were killed Tuesday in a brawl. The fight happened sometime around 4:45 p.m. in the processing area of the prison in Gomez Palacio, Durango.
The Durango Pubic Safety Ministry said 11 inmates were killed. They all appeared to have died of stab wounds, but an official cause of death has not been determined. It is unclear what sparked the fight.
The Gomez Palacio prison is no stranger to deadly brawls. Last January, more than 20 prisoners were killed in a fight.
