Ted Williams, the homeless man who became famous for his “golden voice,” has checked in to rehab for treatment of dependency on drugs and alcohol. Williams, who recently claimed to have been sober for 2 years, decided to enter treatment after finally admitting to Dr. Phil that he was still drinking.
In several interviews since becoming a Youtube sensation, Williams said he struggled with addiction for several years. His addictions eventually separated him from his family and led to his life on the streets. After the Columbus Dispatch posted a video of Williams panhandling on an Ohio road, the 53-year-old became famous over night and was offered numerous voice-over jobs including one with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
It is unclear where Williams chose to seek treatment.
