Professor Green's attacker has been sentenced to eight years in prison.
Anthony Jones, 25, attacked the 'Monster' rapper with a broken glass bottle outside a nightclub in May 2009, leaving the star with a six-inch scar on his neck.
He was found guilty of GBH with intent and was told today at Snaresbrook Crown Court in East London he will serve a minimum of four years in jail.
When Green, real name Stephen Paul Manderson, appeared to give evidence in the case last October, he told how he feared he would die from the injury.
He said: "I was scared. I know what happens when people tend to get cut in the neck. I was extremely lucky, nothing lasting, fortunately."
The 27 year old has also had to defend himself after he was accused of "snitching" on blogs and web forums, saying he was forced to give evidence, but didn't feel good doing it.
He said: "I nearly lost my life and I was in a position where I stood to lose everything if I don't go to court.
"It wasn't like I was snitching because I wasn't taking anything off my shoulders and putting it on someone else's, there was something morally correct to do."
He added: "I've not had a clean past. I've been arrested. If I'm a rat, how come when I was looking at years I didn't implicate anybody?
"I don't believe in snitching. If you've put yourself in a predicament then you should deal with that and you should be man enough to take the responsibility."
