Nearly 400 people have died in flooding and mudslides in Brazil. Heavy rains have battered the area since January 1. Forecasters predict the rain could continue in to next week.
In Rio de Janeiro state, at least 349 people have died so far. Sao Paulo had a much lower initial death toll of 24. Officials fear the death toll will rise as thousands of homes are in danger of being hit by the floods.
President Dilma Rousseff is set to fly over the affected areas on Thursday.
