Hall of Fame recipient Frank Robinson was
taken to the hospital on Thursday morning.
The senior vice president for Major League Baseball, was transported by
ambulance to a Scottsdale hospital after experiencing dizziness and an
irregular heartbeat on Thursday morning.
Commissioner Bud Selig said tests on
the 75-year-old have been negative for any serious problems.
Robinson experienced those symptoms
while attending a session during baseball's quarterly owners' meetings.
Pat Courtney, a spokesman for MLB,
said Robinson was conscious when he was taken away by ambulance to Scottsdale
Memorial Hospital. Courtney said Robinson initially got up during the meeting,
beckoned a couple of MLB officials and left the room, walking to the main lobby
area of the Sanctuary resort under his own power.
