A United Airlines flight crew was forced to duct-tape an unruly passenger to her seat. Passenger Maria Esther Castillo hit a flight attendant and pulled a blind passengers hair before the flight crew restrained her with ankle cuffs.
The cuffs kept slipping off, so the crew and two passengers used duct-tape to keep Castillo, 45, in her seat. The flight took off from Puerto Rico and was bound for Chicago, but was forced to land in North Carolina.
Castillo allegedly became disruptive when authorities removed her from the plane. She has been charged with resisting arrest and interfering with the operations of a flight crew.
FBI agent Peter Carricato said that a passenger saw Castillo having drinks at the airport before boarding flight 645.
