X Factor's Shirlena auditions for BGT

'X Factor' reject Shirlena Johnson has auditioned for 'Britain's Got Talent'.

The eccentric singer - who was thrown off 'The X Factor' when producers became concerned for her welfare after it was revealed she suffers from mental health problems - is trying for another chance at fame on the ITV1 talent show.

She said: "I deserve a second chance. I hope I will make it to the next stage. It would mean a lot to me. I would be so happy. This is something I really want to do - it's my dream.

"I have a supportive family around me who can help with my daughter."

The 30-year-old single mum - who now claims to have overcome her depression and anxiety problems - sang Duffy's hit 'Mercy' at the 'BGT' auditions in a bid to win a place in its live finals.

It was the same hit which saw her being thrown off 'The X Factor' after her bizarre rendition of the song sparked calls for her to be seen by mental health experts.

However, Shirlena admitted she sang a toned down version of the tune in front of a producer this time around, and now hopes to be allowed to perform for judges Amanda Holden, Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff at the live auditions for the ITV1 show.

She explained to The Sun newspaper: "I was crawling and rolling on the floor and dancing. I did tone it down a bit - it was not as wacky."
