AP Top 25 College Football Scores: #10 Utah Utes Keep BCS Dreams Alive with Last Minute Win Over #11 TCU

The #10 Utah Utes (10-0) kept their BCS dreams alive on Thursday night with a last minute win over the #11 TCU Horned Frogs (9-2) 13-10 despite rushing for just 45 yards and converting 4-15 third down attempts.

TCU jumped to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter with a 37-yard field goal from Ross Evans and a 3-yard TD run from Ryan Christian. Utah managed to put three points on the board in the first as Louie Sakoda connected from 49-yards to cut their deficit to 10-3 heading into the second.

Sakoda then connected from 37-yards out as time expired in the opening half to get the Utes to within 10-6.

Neither team could put points on the board in the third quarter but TCU had plenty for opportunities to ice the game in the fourth but failed. Twice the Horned Frogs were inside Utah’s 20-yard-line but came away with nothing as Evans missed field goals 26 and 35 yards.

That second miss was what Utah needed as Brian Johnson managed to lead the Utes down the field and eventually hit Freddie Brown on a 9-yard toss with 47 seconds left on the clock to grab a 13-10 advantage. After Robert Johnson picked off Andy Dalton with 11 seconds remaining the Utes kept their perfect season intact and their shot at a BCS bowl game alive.
