Lizard in broccoli

Broccoli purchased in the UK was found to have a live gecko living inside it.

Margaret Perthen, 62, screamed when she discovered the lizard inside the vegetable, purchased from supermarket Tesco, but quickly became attached to it.

She said: "I don't know who was the most frightened - me or the gecko. I felt sorry for him, especially as he had lost his tail. I called it Gordon."

Margaret contacted a local vet in Gloucestershire who deals with exotic animals to help her with the gecko.
