AP Top 25 College Football Big 12 Schedule: #2 Texas Tech Red Raiders Host #8 Oklahoma State Cowboys in BCS Bowl

The #2 Texas Tech Red Raiders (9-0, 5-0) are coming off the school’s biggest win in history after knocking off then #1 Texas and things won’t get any easier on Saturday when they host the #8 Oklahoma State Cowboys (8-1, 4-1) in a key Big 12 showdown that has BCS national title implications.

Texas Tech will try to avoid a letdown after the huge win when they face an Oklahoma State offense that ranks #5 in the nation in scoring at 45.3 points per game. That shouldn’t intimidate the Red Raiders though as they rank #3 in the same category with 47.0 points per game.

Led by Heisman hopeful Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree the Red Raiders have simply out-gunned their opponents this year. Harrell is averaging 402.3 yards passing per contest, tops in the country, with 30 TDs and only five interceptions. His favorite target, Crabtree, has been averaging 102.3 yards per game and has hauled in 15 touchdowns.

Oklahoma State may try to slow the pace of the game with their dominant running attack that eats up an average of 273.56 yards per game, #5 in the country. That may be no easy task as the Red Raiders have allowed just 98.6 yards rushing per game. Regardless, Kendall Hunter will almost certainly get his touches as he averages 135.56 yards rushing per game.

With a win the Red Raiders will keep their dream of a BCS title alive and have a week off before facing #6 Oklahoma in what could lock up the Big 12 South and punch their ticket to the Big 12 championship game.
