AP Top 25 College Football Pac-10 Schedule: #7 USC Trojans and #21 California Golden Bears Meet in Key Conference Battle

The #7 USC Trojans (7-1, 5-1) haven’t lived down their only loss of the year as they remain an outsider in the hunt for a BCS title but crazier things have happened in college football. But first things first the Trojans need to capture the Pac-10 and to do that they’ll need to take care of business, that starts on Saturday as they host the #21 California Golden Bears (6-2, 4-1) in conference play.

Since dropping their third game of the season to Oregon State the Trojans have rattled off five straight wins including three shutouts. They have averaged 40.3 points per game largely due to the leadership of Mark Sanchez who has thrown for 1884 yards and 22 touchdowns and C.J. Gable who is averaging 6.4 yards per carry.

It’s no secret USC lives and dies by the defense as they are ranked #1 allowing just 7.1 points per game while giving up 84.13 yards rushing and 127.5 passing yards. California will have its work cut out for them but they do feature the nation’s #19 offense averaging 36.4 points per game.

With both teams holding just one loss in the Pac-10 the conference title could very well be in the balance as nobody expects Oregon State to finish Pac-10 play with just one loss.
