School Collapses in Haiti, at least 10 Dead, Number Expected to Rise

A school collapsed in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on Friday killing at least ten people and leaving an unknown number buried under rubble as rescue workers continue to dig for survivors.

There has been no word on what caused the three-story building to collapse but reports have indicated that the top floor was still under construction. According to American Red Cross representatives on the scene the death toll is expected to rise significantly as students were in class at the time of the collapse.

Located in Petionville, a relatively wealthy suburb of Port-au-Prince, La Promesse College educates some 700 students.
