Joe Calzaghe and Roy Jones Jr. Set for Light-Heavyweight Battle at Madison Square Garden on Saturday

In one of the most anticipated fights of the year Joe Calzaghe and Roy Jones Jr. will be squaring off at Madison Square Garden in New York on Saturday night. Both fighters weighed in at 174 ½ pounds on Friday, just below the 175 pound limit for light-heavyweights.

Calzaghe, 36, will be putting his 45-0 mark, 32 wins by knockout, on the line against one of boxing’s most revered pound-for-pound fighters in Jones. The 39-year-old has held belts in four different weight divisions and at one time was considered the best boxer in the sport. Jones is currently 52-4 with 38 knockouts. He is coming off a 12-round unanimous decision victory over Felix Trinidad in January.

Calzaghe is coming off a split-decision win over Bernard Hopkins.

Saturday’s bout is for the Ring light-heavyweight title, a belt currently held by Calzaghe.

The undercard for the Calzaghe-Jones fight begins at 7:30 p.m. ET.
