Guard arrested over high hoagie

An American prison officer has been accused of attempting to smuggle marijuana into a Florida jail by putting it inside a submarine sandwich.

Master corrections officer Joseph Jones was arrested on January 12 after his fellow guards found a hoagie he was carrying contained eight grams of the herbal drug instead of meat.

The 31 year old is accused of taking two sandwiches from Teresa Myers, 29, and Ashley Kiser, 24 - the girlfriends of two inmates - one of which contained the mind-altering filling.

Jones has been charged with possession of marijuana and suspended without pay. The two girls have been charged with smuggling contraband into a jail as have their incarcerated lovers Travis Cottrell and Anthony Carter.
