It is legal to ride a horse while drunk in the US state of Montana.
The Montana Department of Transportation decided to run an advertising campaign showing a horse picking up an intoxicated reveller from a bar in a bid to encourage drinkers not to drive.
However, residents have taken the campaign literally and have been telephoning the Helena Police to ask if it is legal to saddle up if you've been drinking.
And they have been told anyone who wants to gallop home on horseback after boozing can do so because a horse is not defined as a vehicle in Montana.
Montana law also excludes bicycles and wheelchairs from its definition of a vehicle.
