Ben Affleck is set to direct 'American Bulls**t'.
The actor - who won huge critical acclaim with his directing skills for 'The Town' - is favourite to helm the project, which is based on an Eric Warren Singer script and was number eight on the 2010 Black List, an annual listing of the best unproduced screenplays of the year.
According to the Black List description, the drama is "the true story of Abscam, the FBI's 1980 undercover sting operation of Congress to root out corruption which was the brainchild of the world's greatest con man".
The project is already set up at Sony Pictures Entertainment with Charles Roven producing through Atlas Entertainment and while Ben is yet to commit, he is said to be seriously considering the offer.
'American Bulls**t' is one of several films Ben is looking at with the others including a real-life wife swap drama 'The Trade' and 'Replay', about a 43-year old radio journalist who dies, wakes up in his 18-year old body, and gets to relive his life over and over.
