AP Top 25 College Football Scores: #19 North Carolina Tar Heels Take Over in Fourth Quarter to Drop #22 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Cameron Sexton threw for 127 yards and a pair of touchdowns, Ryan Houston rushed for 74 yards and two TDs and the #19 North Carolina Tar Heels (7-2, 3-2) defense forced three turnovers in a 28-7 victory over the #22 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (7-3, 4-3) on Saturday in a key ACC Coastal match-up.

The Tar Heels got on the board on their first possession of the game as Sexton hit Zack Pianalto on an 8-yard toss but that would be the only scoring either team would manufacturer through three quarters of play.

In the fourth quarter Houston boosted the Tar Heels lead to 14-0 on a 2-yard run and after North Carolina forced a fumble on Tech’s next possession Houston found the endzone once again, this time on a 3-yard run and the lead was 21-0.

With six minutes left in the game Tech finally got on the board after Jonathan Dwyer scored on an 85-yard touchdown run but Sexton sealed the game with a 31-yard touchdown pass to Hakeem Nicks with just over four minutes left on the clock.

North Carolina will travel to Maryland next week while Georgia Tech hosts Miami on Nov. 20.
