Terrelle Pryor was 9/14 passing for 197 yards and three touchdowns, Beanie Wells rushed for 140 yards and a pair of TDs and the #12 Ohio State Buckeyes (8-2, 5-1) rolled over the Northwestern Wildcats (7-3, 3-3) 45-10 in Big Ten play on Saturday to keep their hopes of a conference championship alive.
Wells put the Buckeyes in front 7-0 in the first quarter with a 2-yard run but the Wildcats answered as Mike Kafka scored on a keeper from a yard out to tie the score 7-7.
Ohio State then took control of the game in the second quarter with a 55-yard touchdown run from Wells, a 33-yard field goal from Ryan Pretorius and then a 15-yard touchdown pass from Pryor to Brian Robiskie just before the end of the half.
The Wildcats cut their deficit to 14-10 early in the third quarter with a field goal but Pryor found Rory Nicol on a 6-yard touchdown at the close of the frame and then hooked up with Robiskie again in the fourth quarter on a 34 yard toss to ice the game.
Ohio State will take on Illinois next week while Northwestern travels to Michigan.
