Max Hall was 25/30 passing for 317 yards and three touchdowns, Austin Collie had 127 yards receiving and two TDs and the #17 BYU Cougars (9-1, 5-1) defense forced four turnovers in a 41-12 blasting of the San Diego State Aztecs (1-9, 0-6) in MWC action on Saturday.
There was never any doubt in the game as the Cougars jumped to a 20-0 lead in the first half with a 7-yard touchdown run from Fui Vakapuna, a 6-yard toss from Hall to Andrew George and a pair of field goals from Mitch Payne.
The lead was boosted to 27-0 in the third quarter when Wayne Latu ran it in from 3-yards out but the Aztecs countered with a pair of field goals to get within 27-6 but it would get no closer. In the fourth Hall put the game away with TD tosses to Collie of 61-yards and 9-yards and the Cougars cruised the rest of the way.
BYU will head on the road and take on Air Force next week while San Diego State faces Utah.
