Carol McGiffin has backed fellow 'Loose Women' star Denise Welch in 'Dancing On Ice'.
The 50-year-old TV personality believes her co-host - who is skating alongside professional partner Matt Evers in the ITV1 show - is so popular she could just stand on the ice and be voted through to the next round of the competition.
With 'Loose Woman' panellist Coleen Nolan finishing in fourth place in the 2009 series of the show, Carol believes determined Denise has the potential to go far.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Denise is b****y brilliant. Her only problem is she thinks it's actually about the ice skating and it's not at all.
"It's 100 per cent a popularity contest and she's got a huge fanbase so she'll go far. She could go on the ice and just stand there and still get through. Look at how far Coleen got two years ago!"
However, Carol admitted she isn't planning on taking to the ice herself anytime soon, primarily because of her hatred of sequins and lycra.
Speaking at the launch of opera singer Wynne Evans' debut album 'A Song In My Heart' at London's Saville Club last night (18.01.11), she added: "Would I go on it? Never in a million years! I hate lycra and I hate sequins - it would be my worst nightmare!"
