"If you could start any business today, any business, what business would you start? What business do you think would be profitable based on these economic times? There are people who need help and get gratification helping others, as I do. Would you go into retail? Starbucks closes 600 stores, Gap, 356 stores, Sharper Image, filing for bankruptcy protection. If you can’t sell Mickey Mouse, I’m sorry, our economy is experiencing some difficulties," comments Fred Solomon, radio talk show host, investment and strategies workshop speaker.
Disney Store's closing 90 of its 184 stores, in bankruptcy protection as we speak. Footlocker, 180 stores, Wickes and Levitt’s Furniture, bye-bye, see ya! Mervins, is out. CNBC reports that we are going to see more job losses, significant job losses, and higher unemployment that we’ve seen since the last 30 years. Buffet says we’re going to have the worst recession since the Great Depression.
So what kind of business would you get into based on what they’re telling you on TV? And you don’t have to believe what they’re telling you on TV, but what kind of business would you start to maybe kind of put a hedge on that bet? Any ideas? Who do you think is doing well right now in this economy?
A potential business opportunity is loan modification companies. Solomon’s current intensive workshops are doing just that. “How about bankruptcy attorneys, debt consolidation companies, pawn shop owners. Get my point? This is one of the reasons we help people at our workshops and network with likeminded people who want to help others and make a living at the same time,” adds Solomon.
"At my office, we’ve got the fighters. That’s who I want on my team. Someone who’s going to fight through this B.S. and change with the times. Change your mind, its direction and thrive in today's economy. I encourage everybody to do it. But if you put up you road blocks, then you’re done. If you can stay focused and have the right attitude. This is the way to turn something from ordinary into extraordinary," concludes Solomon.
