AP Top 25 Rankings Week 11: Alabama Crimson Tide and Texas Tech Red Raiders Remain Atop Latest Poll
With the 2008 college football season winding down and teams positioning themselves for a BCS national title run the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Texas Tech Red Raiders have maintained an inside track for a trip to Miami after impressive wins on Saturday and the two remain #1 and #2 in the Week 11 AP Top 25 rankings.
Alabama held their top spot at #1 after going on the road and knocking off the then #15 LSU Tigers to clinch the SEC West and earn a berth in the SEC Championship later this year where they will face the #3 Florida Gators.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders held their #2 ranking after dismantling then #8 Oklahoma State but they still have some work to do as they face the #5 Oklahoma Sooners in two weeks in what could determine the Big 12 South and ultimately who goes to the national championship game.
Continuing to move up in the polls are the Florida Gators who inched up a spot to #3 after pounding Vanderbilt on Saturday to lock up the SEC East title and earn a trip to the SEC Championship.
Things still look bright for the #4 Texas Longhorns who took care of business against the Baylor Bears and will now be pulling for the Sooners when they face Texas Tech in two weeks.
The Sooners crushed Texas A&M on Saturday to jump up to #5 this week and still have a shot at the Big 12 South title but they’ll need to knock off the Red Raiders when they visit Norman.
